Kyle Kuzma was set to announce two endorsement deals with Chinese companies during the Los Angeles Lakers' trip to China, details Bill Oram of The Athletic.

Announcement of the sponsorship deals "were scrapped" due to the situation stemming from Daryl Morey's retweet supporting Hong Kong protesters.

Kuzma recalls discussing opportunities within the Chinese basketball market with Kobe Bryant.

“I asked him a lot of questions over that night. One of them was about China, how he approached it and how he got into it. Not only for basketball but just business. They have a lot of money over there to do things and everybody wants to dip into that Western-type culture," Kuzma said of his conversation with Bryant.

There was no media availability for either of the two games held in China between the Nets and the Lakers.
