There has been an increased in optimism over the past week that the NBA will eventually be able to finish the 19-20 season in some form.

"For me, it usually goes week-to-week," wrote Shams Charania. "Last week, there was the most optimism so far across the NBA, and it seems MLB too. But the week of April 20, there was pessimism. We are covering an unprecedented time. Adam Silver and Rob Manfred would love to have control of this situation. That simply isn’t possible."

Charania also added that the NBA is planning for many scenarios for its return-to-play including a Christmas Day start to the 20-21 season.
