Mo Bamba revealed this week to The Athletic that he contracted COVID-19 in June and was symptomatic.

“I think the lesson is to take it seriously, to take it as seriously as possible,” said Bamba, who added he doesn’t know how he contracted the coronavirus. “I think we all play a part in making sure that we all stay safe. It’s going to take everyone.”

Bamba lost his sense of smell and taste, and also felt fatigue symptoms and muscle soreness.

Bamba registered multiple false positive tests once inside the bubble, which forced him quarantine for extra time and miss three days of practice.

“It was a pretty big setback without any access to the facility when things were ramping back up and guys were getting back in and we were kind of starting to feel like the restart was real,” Bamba said in an exclusive interview with The Athletic.
