Willie Green has emerged as the frontrunner to become the next head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans.

Green has been an assistant coach for the Phoenix Suns for the past two seasons. Green was previously an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors.

Green spent 12 seasons in the NBA as a player.

The Pelicans are searching for a replacement for Stan Van Gundy.
