Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to a four-year, $196 million supermax extension. The deal will be fully guaranteed and contains a player option for the 26-27 season. Embiid's extension will begin in 23-24 and is based off a projected $124.95 million salary cap for that season.

Embiid represented himself in negotations with the 76ers.

When Embiid signed a five-year, $147.7 million extension in 2017, the deal had protections in case of catastrophic injury to his lower back or feet.

Embiid finished second in MVP voting last season.
