Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic has been dealing with a sore left ankle for nearly a month now. Doncic has tried to play through to buoy the struggling Mavs, but will now sit out for multiple games. Doncic has been officially ruled out for the Mavericks back-to-back games on Sunday and Monday.

Doncic has played in 21 of Dallas' first 25 games this season. Almost across the board, the 22-year-old superstar is averaging lower numbers than the prior two seasons. Doncic has seen his shooting, scoring, rebounding and passing all dip, in part due to the ankle injury.

As Doncic's play has slipped, so has the Mavs record. Dallas is a disappointing 12-13 on the season and finds themselves sitting in eighth place in the Western Conference. The hope is that with time off and treatment, Doncic can get his ankle right and lead the Mavericks to a big second half of the season.
