Josh Hart told Taylor Rooks that he'll probably opt out of his option and become a free agent, though he hopes to re-sign with the New York Knicks.
“We’ll probably decline (the option) and do the free agency time,” Hart told Rooks.
Hart added that he hopes to get a deal done with the Knicks early in free agency.
"I love New York. I love the team. I love the coaching staff, the front office that we have, we have young guys, draft picks, all those sorts of things. I mean, obviously that would be an ideal place for me to just re-sign there ... so, fingers crossed that when free agency starts, I’ll say a deal will get done hopefully in the first day or two," said Hart.
Hart could reportedly command a deal approaching $18 million per season.
