The banged-up Memphis Grizzlies have some help on the way. Memphis will sign guards Shaquille Harrison and Jaylen Nowell to contracts via the NBA's hardship exception.

The Grizzlies are currently down six players due to long-term injuries. Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke are both out for the season. Luke Kennard and Marcus Smart are out for several weeks with injuries. And Jake LaRavia and Xavier Tillman Sr. are out for at least a week or more.

The NBA allows teams to petition for a hardship exception, which allows them to exceed the normal roster limits. In this case, the league approved Memphis to add two players.

The Grizzlies also have Ja Morant on the suspended list for 11 more games. Memphis was granted an extra roster spot when Morant was put on the suspended list, and the team signed Bismack Biyombo.
