The Atlanta Hawks signed Jarkel Joiner and Keaton Wallace to training camp contract. Both players will join the College Park Skyhawks after the preseason.

Joiner went undrafted out of NC State at the 2023 NBA Draft. As a senior, Joiner averaged 17 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.

Wallace spent part of last season on a two-way contract with the LA Clippers. He didn't appear in an NBA game, but Wallace averaged 13.9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists for the Ontario Clippers in the G League.

The Atlanta Hawks signed forward Chris Silva.

Silva has appeared in 70 regular season games across four NBA seasons with Miami, Sacramento, Minnesota and Dallas, owning averages of 2.8 points and 2.7 rebounds in 7.6 minutes (.609 FG%, .707 FT%).

The 6-8 forward spent the 2022-23 NBA G League season with the College Park Skyhawks, appearing in 40 games (39 starts), tallying 14.2 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.5 blocks in 25.7 minutes (.553 FG%, .500 3FG%, .748 FT%). He signed two 10-day contracts with the Dallas Mavericks (Jan. 31, 2023 and Feb. 10, 2023), seeing action in one game.

In a long-coming Instagram post, John Collins thanked the fans and city of Atlanta for supporting him during his time with the Atlanta Hawks. Collins also indicated he was ready for a new opportunity.

“This one definitely stung… But as I see it, it is this hawks time to fly away from the nest. As my growth here is being stunted," Collins wrote.

The Hawks traded John Collins and the remaining three years and $78.5 million on his contract to the Utah Jazz this offseason. For Atlanta, it was a way to balance their cap sheet, as the Hawks were pushing in on the luxury tax with Collins on the roster. The Hawks received Rudy Gay and a conditional second-round pick in the deal. Gay was traded again to the Oklahoma City Thunder and subsequently waived.

The Atlanta Hawks were reportedly unwilling to add Kobe Bufkin in a deal for Pascal Siakam, sources told Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

The Hawks previously offered DeAndre Hunter and the 15th pick of the 2023 draft for Siakam, according to Marc Stein. 

The Hawks drafted Bufkin with the 15th pick.

Scotto adds that Bogdan Bogdanovic will become trade eligible on September 16. 

The Atlanta Hawks have agreed to re-sign Trent Forrest to a Two-Way contract.

Forrest appeared in 23 games last season with the Hawks, averaging 2.3 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 12.0 minutes.

Forrest also appeared in seven G League games, averaging 16.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and 6.6 assists in 31.0 minutes.
