Boston has more assets than any good team.  We preview their offseason (32:30) and their potential $22 million to $51 million in cap space. Should they go for it this year or keep the powder dry for 2017?  What are the chances Amir Johnson, Jonas Jerebko, Evan Turner, Jared Sullinger, and Tyler Zeller return?  Finally, a brief preview of OKC/GSW Game 6 (58:00).

Celtics To Target Backcourt If Pick Falls Outside Top-2

May 17, 2016 12:44 PM

The Boston Celtics are expected to target a guard in the draft if their pick from the Brooklyn Nets falls outside the top-2.

Jamal Murray would be the logical pick with his shooting and versatility, but sources say they also like Buddy Hield.

The Celtics have Isaiah Thomas, Marcus Smart and Avery Bradley as their primary options in the backcourt.

Evan Turner Appreciates Team Wanting Him Back For First Time In Career

May 16, 2016 12:45 PM

Evan Turner finally emerged as a productive NBA player with the Boston Celtics after being unwanted by the Philadelphia 76ers and Indiana Pacers.

Turner will be a free agent this offseason and the Celtics hold his Early Bird rights, which means they can only offer him a contract that starts around $6 million unless they use cap space.

Turner averaged 10.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 4.4 assists during the 2015-16 season.

"Hopefully we can figure out a way to make it work," Turner told CSN at a fundraising event for Horizons for Homeless. "It’s a lot going on with the team, with the roster, the draft picks, and things like that. ... [Celtics brass and Turner] didn’t have any surefire talks about [a return], but there’s definitely admiration on both sides. I trust that [Celtics president of basketball operations] Danny [Ainge] is going to do what’s best for the organization."

Pressed on whether he'd consider a hometown discount, Turner added, "Of course. I joke with people, this is the first time I left an exit meeting and the team wanted me back."

Nuggets, Bulls, Celtics Inquired About Blake Griffin

May 1, 2016 5:17 PM

The Denver Nuggets were perhaps the team who advanced furthest with the Los Angeles Clippers in exploring a trade for Blake Griffin before the trade deadline.

The offer of the Nuggets and what the Clippers were seeking for Griffin were not close and talks gained no traction.

The Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics also inquired with the Clippers on Griffin.

Griffin's injuries have played a factor in how rival teams perceive his value.
