Brown Expected To Push Young Bobcats

Apr 30, 2008 5:38 PM

Larry Brown, who was named the coach of the Bobcats earlier this week, is expected to push the young team, according to HoopsWorld.

He has a history of running rather difficult practices during his numerous coaching stops throughout both the NBA and NCAA.

Nazr Mohammed played under Brown in Philadelphia for a couple of seasons.

"I haven't had the chance to talk to everyone (on the team) yet, so no one has asked me any questions.  I know everyone is probably going to ask me some questions before it is all said and done," said Mohammed.

Execs: Bobcats Offered More Than Okafor Is Worth

Apr 15, 2008 4:13 PM

Several NBA executives think that the Bobcats offered Emeka Okafor more than he will be worth in the open market, according to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer.

Charlotte offered the restricted free agent a long-term extension worth roughly $12 million a season, but he turned it down.

He has the option to sign a one-year tender and become an unrestricted free agent in 2009.

RealGM Note: As the 35th ranked player according to the FIC, Okafor 'deserved' to make $12.4 million during the 2007-08 season.
