Scotty Hopson Signs With Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed Scotty Hopson using their prorated $2.5 million room exception with a non-guaranteed second season at $2.5 million.

Hopson has played in Greece, Israel and Turkey since going undrafted out of Tennessee in 2011.

Curry's first 10-day contract expired on Sunday.

Curry scored three points in nine minutes in one appearance with the Cavaliers.

Kyrie Irving is making progress in returning from a strained left biceps, though he's still a week away from having it formally reexamined.

"He's getting closer but he's not playing tonight," Mike Brown said.

Brown was asked on Tuesday if he thought Irving would return this season.

"He's doing the things we need him to do, but it's too early for me to say,'' the coach said.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have the worst record in the NBA since the 10-11 season, ahead of the Charlotte Bobcats.

The Cavaliers have a 90-209 record (30.1 percent) compared to 95-204 (31.8 percent) for the Bobcats.

The Cavaliers won 66 and 61 games in the final two seasons of LeBron James' tenure with the franchise.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed guard Seth Curry to a 10-day contract.

To create the roster spot for Curry, the Cavaliers released forward Shane Edwards from his 10-day contract that was set to expire today.

Curry has appeared in 36 games (35 starts) for the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA Development League this season, averaging 19.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 1.4 steals in 35.2 minutes per game. He also played one game for the Memphis Grizzlies earlier in the season.
