In a recent appearance on Gilbert Arenas' podcast "Gil's Arena", Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry discussed his career. One part of the conversation was about how long Curry hopes to play, and if he'd play as long as LeBron James has.
“It’s somewhere in that range, but I never imagined myself being the forty-plus dude trying to hold on for dear life”, said Curry. “But who knows what my body will look like or feel like at that point? I got three years left on my deal, including at least that, and then kind of figure it out from there."
Curry also said he takes pride in playing for one franchise for his entire career.
“I am blessed to know and hope that no matter how many years I do play, playing for one franchise and being a part of that group of the legends that have accomplished that feat and won at the highest level and all that. I don’t ever take that for granted either," Curry said. "You got the Kobe (Bryant)’s, the Magic (Johnson)’s, Dirk (Nowitzki), Tim Duncan, those guys helped establish a culture, won, did it with a lot of different roster combinations and different parts in their career."
The Golden State Warriors are set to work out NBA veteran Glenn Robinson III. Robinson is expected to join a workout with other veteran players for the Warriors in the coming weeks.
Robinson has played in the NBA for seven seasons, but hasn't suited up for an NBA team since 2021. The veteran wing has played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers, Indiana Pacers, Detroit Pistons and Sacramento Kings, in addition a stint with the Warriors.
The Golden State Warriors have agreed to sign Jayce Johnson to a training camp deal.
Johnson will compete for a Two-Way slot with the Warriors in camp.
Johnson averaged 9.4 points and 13.5 rebounds in 25.7 minutes over 32 games in the G League last season.
The NBA's Christmas Day schedule has leaked via Shams Charania of The Athletic, headlined by the Boston Celtics at the Los Angeles Lakers.
The NBA will open the 23-24 season on October 24th with a doubleheader featuring four Western Conference teams.
The Denver Nuggets will host the Los Angeles Lakers in the opener. The Nuggets swept the Lakers in four games during the Western Conference Finals. The Nuggets will raise their championship banner and also receive their rings.
The Golden State Warriors will then host the Phoenix Suns in what will be Kevin Durant's first game at his former team with fans in attendance.
The Golden State Warriors will hold free agent workouts with Dion Waiters, Tony Snell, Kent Bazemore, Juan Toscano-Anderson, and Trey Burke, sources told Shams Charania and Anthony Slater of The Athletic.
The workouts are set to take place over the next two weeks.
The Warriors will also work out Harry Giles this week.
Harry Giles III is set to workout for the Golden State Warriors next week, according to his agent.
Giles will also workout for the Nets on Saturday, and most recently had a workout for the Magic.
The Golden State Warriors do not expect Andre Iguodala to play next season. The Warriors urged Iguodala to return last season, but he dealt with injuries and was limited to just eight games. The Warriors, however, would be open to him returning if he decides not to retire.
“But my sense is Andre’s probably got some other stuff going,” general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. told NBC Sports Bay Area.
“But he has my number. The phone is always on.”
