Jamal Crawford is not worried he may miss the rest of the season with his injured calf.
Crawford has been out for more than three weeks with what he describes as "the weirdest" injury of his NBA career.
“It’s hard not playing,” said Crawford, who is not traveling with the team on its current three-game trip, “but I just look at it as each day is a little closer to coming back. The team is playing well and I see my family a little more, so I’m trying to look at the positives.”
Crawford sustained the injury March 2.
Blake Griffin has had battery charges against him dismissed.
A man filed a complaint that Griffin slapped him and grabbed his cell phone in Las Vegas last October.
Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson said Tuesday that new information obtained since a battery charge was filed in November made it clear that the allegations couldn't be proved.
Prosecutor Giancarlo Pesci and defense attorney Richard Schonfeld noted for Justice of the Peace Pro Tem Holly Stoberski that Griffin is an active community service volunteer.
Dwyane Wade and Chris Paul were named the NBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, March 16, through Sunday, March 22.
Wade led the Miami Heat to a 3-1 week.
Paul powered the Los Angeles Clippers to one of the NBA's two 4-0 weeks.
Jamal Crawford has a very deep bruise on his right calf and has no timetable for his return.
Crawford, who had to have it drained once in the last 10 days, has missed the Los Angeles Clippers' last nine straight games.
"Jamal told me he's feeling better," Doc Rivers said Sunday. "It's just that it doesn't seem like it. Honestly, we don't know. There's no target date for Jamal, for sure."
Crawford is not close to a return and could miss the remainder of the season.
"There is a chance," Rivers said Friday. "I don't know right now because he's improved, but not enough, I'll tell you that. He's nowhere near, in my opinion, playing. We just have to hope he gets better."
The Los Angeles Clippers have signed Jordan Hamilton for the remainder of the season.
Hamilton had been on two 10-day contracts with the Clippers to give the team depth on the wing.
DeAndre Jordan will be one of the most highly sought after free agents in the 2015 offseason.
The Los Angeles Clippers won't necessarily have a head start in re-signing Jordan.
“I mean I’ve obviously been here seven years, and the past two have been great,” said Jordan. “Doc (Rivers) has been my biggest supporter and the best coach I’ve ever had. The team is great. The guys are great. We have great camaraderie. But the free agency process is definitely going to be a fun one.”
Jordan was highly productive during the absence of Blake Griffin.
The Los Angeles Clippers, Boston Celtics and Utah Jazz are showing interest in the possible call up of Eric Griffin of Texas in the NBA D-League, league sources told RealGM.
Griffin — one of the D-League’s best wing prospects — has averaged 17.9 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per night in 39 games for the Texas Legends. He joined Dallas’ affiliate after signing an offseason deal to training camp with the Mavericks.
Griffin was a starter in February’s D-League All-Star game, and met with the Clippers during the weekend in New York.
The 6-foot-8 forward played for the Miami Heat in the 2013 preseason, showcasing an elite jumping ability by jumping over the 6-foot-10 Mason Plumlee in an exhibition game.
Out of Campbell in the 2012 NBA Draft, Griffin, 24, has also played professionally in Italy, Venezuela and Puerto Rico.
Nate Robinson will sign a second 10-day contract with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Robinson's first 10-day contract ends on Monday.
Blake Griffin will return from an elbow injury on Sunday against the Houston Rockets.
Doc Rivers announced pre-game that Griffin will return.
Griffin missed the past 15 games due to a staph infection in his right elbow.
