Dwight Howard was asked whether he’d consider joining the Heat when he becomes an unrestricted free agent next summer.
“Never,” Howard said.
Howard stopped short of committing to any specific action with the Magic.
"At this point, I don't know what I'm going to do,” Howard said. “I'm just enjoying life and taking advantage of being young and being able to travel and do the things that I've always wanted to do."

Los Angeles’ pro-am Drew League has played host to several NBA players over its years. But perhaps none have been bigger than LeBron James, who made an appearance on Saturday.
“Seeing him on that court in this community with those kids and the impact he made in that hour and a half of play, this was by far the best day we’ve had in the Drew League,” Drew League director Dino Smiley told Yahoo! Sports.
Smiley said he received a call Thursday from a representative for Cleveland Cavaliers guard Baron Davis saying a major NBA star was attending Saturday. Smiley initially thought it could be Kobe Bryant, Derrick Rose or Blake Griffin. Kevin Durant, Ron Artest and Derrick Williams have already played this summer.
With Davis coaching, James led Cheaters II to a close victory with 33 points.
Nick Arison is the new CEO of the Miami Heat.
The team announced the move Friday. Micky Arison remains the managing general partner of the Heat, and his 30-year-old son had been long expected to eventually take over the franchise.
Nick Arison had been the team’s vice president of basketball operations since September 2008.
Nick Arison was a student manager under Mike Krzyzewski at Duke for four years, with the Blue Devils winning four Atlantic Coast Conferences titles in that span.
Dwyane Wade, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard are among the superstars who are reportedly willing to consider playing overseas.
One superstar who, at least for now, is not looking into the playing elsewhere is LeBron James, according to sources.
During NBATV’s show Tuesday to announce the league’s schedule for the 2011-12 season—one jeopardized by a lockout—Shaquille O’Neal referred to the Heat as having a “Big 2.” Since Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James teamed up in Miami, they’ve been called the “Big 3” in many circles.
“The Miami Heat, they’ve got a lot of great players, the `Big 2.’ They will be back,” O’Neal said from Louisiana during the broadcast, when discussing the NBA finals and how Dallas was able to beat Miami for the title. “LeBron James is taking a lot of criticism, but I know LeBron very well. He hears everything that everyone is saying, so I think he’s going to come back and have an MVP year this year.
“Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, you know, they’re great players, they’re probably the greatest backcourt ever assembled,” O’Neal said. “And you know, they’re going to get back. They’re going to get back. They play well, they went through a lot, they put a lot of pressure on themselves. That’s how they like it. And they will be back.”
The Dallas Mavericks won the 2011 NBA Championship and will appear as the marquee attraction for several nationally televised games during the 11-12 regular season.
Dallas will host the Chicago Bulls on Nov. 1 as the season opener and will also host the Miami Heat on Christmas Day on ABC.
The Bulls will be in Los Angeles on Christmas Day to play the Lakers.
The Heat will start their season on Nov. 2 against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
The Knicks will travel to play the Nuggets on Nov. 16, which would mark the first game back in Denver for Carmelo Anthony. The team will also be involved in the Christmas Day slate as they will play the Boston Celtics.
Blake Griffin and the Clippers will be featured heavily on national television, with 13 appearances on either TNT or ESPN.
The Raptors will host the Philadelphia 76ers on Nov. 2 for their season opener.
Eddy Curry’s predicament is clear: If he loses at least 40 more pounds during the lockout, then the Heat likely will have renewed and genuine interest because Pat Riley remains highly intrigued by the 7-foot center. The question is whether he has the discipline to achieve that mighty challenge.
Curry, 28, reportedly topped 350 pounds during his late March workout for the Heat. He lost a lot more weight — in excess of 20 pounds — between that point and late June, when he auditioned again for the Heat over several days.
But he entered the lockout still at least 40 pounds overweight, according to a league official briefed on the situation. “You watch him shoot and he’s got great touch, good hands,” said a player source who was invited to Curry’s multiplayer Heat workouts in late June. “He’s very skilled. But it’s a question of whether he gets more serious. He’s got a long way to go.”
In an interview discussing his new position at TNT, Shaquille O'Neal placed the media frenzy surrounding the performance of LeBron James in the NBA Finals in perspective.
"I would not characterize it as unfair because, like I said, it happened to everyone," he said. "It happened to (Michael) Jordan when he went to Atlantic City to get away from the game. It happened to (Charles) Barkley. It happened to (Dennis) Rodman. It happened to Magic (Johnson). It happens to everybody. If it just started this year, I would call it unfair, but I've been in the game for 20 years and I've seen similar stories."
According to reports from InterAksyon.com and SLAMOnline.com, Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, Oklahoma City forward Kevin Durant, and New Orleans guard Chris Paul are headed to the Phillipines next week for a couple of exhibition games.
Sacramento's Tyreke Evans, Miami's Mario Chalmers, Minnesota's Darko Milicic, Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook and James Harden and the Los Angeles Clippers' DeAndre Jordan reportedly have also been invited to participate.
The exhibition games will be played in Manila.
The NBA stars will play against the SMART-Gilas Pilipinas national team and an all-star squad from the Philippine Basketball Association.
Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade has undergone Lasik eye surgery, according to a message posted Friday afternoon on Wade's Twitter feed.
At about 1 p.m. Friday, the seven-time All-Star wrote, "Just made my first move of the summer to get better next year..i got lasik on my eyes..thanks to Dr Lessner at Millennium Laser eye center"
Lasik surgery is an outpatient procedure that involves the laser removal of corneal tissue. The surgery is intended to reduce a patient's dependence on glasses or contacts.
