LeBron To Meet With Knicks At 1 PM Thursday

The Knicks will fly to Cleveland for a 1 p.m. sitdown with LeBron James, league sources told ESPN.com's Chris Broussard on Wednesday night.

New York is first meeting with Mike Miller, Joe Johnson and Amar'e Stoudemire in Los Angeles after midnight on July 1st.

The Knicks will meet with Mike Miller as free agency begins at 9:01 PM EST local time in Los Angeles.

Joe Johnson will meet with the Knicks shortly thereafter.

Both Miller and Johnson are represented by Arn Tellem.

Miller will meet with the Heat after New York, according to Michael Lee of the Washington Post.

New York will also meet with Amar'e Stoudemire on Thursday morning.

Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh will meet with teams on Friday in Chicago.

Earlier reports indicated that the two would meet with the Knicks in New York on Friday.  Instead the Knicks, as well as other teams courting the two stars, will fly into Chicago for meetings that same day.

Bloomberg Says LeBron Will Like New York

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg says the soon-to-be free agent LeBron James would like playing in the city.

Bloomberg says celebrities aren't bothered much in the city of more than 8 million people.

If James were to sign with the Knicks or Nets, Bloomberg says he could enjoy a normal life.

Walsh Using Wheelchair But Will Make All Recruiting Trips

Donnie Walsh underwent neck surgery to remove bone spurs two weeks ago and is using a wheelchair until his rehab is completed, the Knicks team president confirmed.

Despite the surgery, Walsh will still make all of the Knicks? free-agent recruiting trips.

?I?m 98 percent,? Walsh said. ?I?m using the chair for precautionary reasons until I?m 100 percent, just to make sure I don?t fall.?

LeBron Possibly Shopping For Manhattan Real Estate

Fox Business Network interviewed a real estate agent on Tuesday who said LeBron James looked at a $13 million condo in Greenwich Village.

James is believed to have been in New York on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

James is believed to be considering the Cavaliers, Heat, Knicks, Bulls and Nets.

Knicks Still Trying to Move Curry For More Cap Space

The Knicks are trying to create additional cap space prior to the start of free agency by trading center Eddy Curry, a source told the Chicago Tribune.

New York is trying to improve their position in the LeBron James sweepstakes by making room to sign Joe Johnson and Chris Bosh as well.

Curry, who has one year left on his deal, would have to be moved via trade or buyout.

Nets Putting Billboards Near Madison Square Garden

The Nets won't move to Brooklyn for at least another two years, but they are already working on converting fans of the Knicks.

New owner Mikhail Prokhorov said at his introductory news conference in May that he thinks he can "turn Knicks fans into Nets fans."

Prokhorov has purchased billboard space near Madison Square Garden. An image of the Russian billionaire and Nets minority owner Jay-Z will be displayed, with completion scheduled just before the start of free agency.

The 222-by-95-foot billboard sporting a Nets logo will picture Jay-Z and Prokhorov side-by-side under the heading, "The Blueprint For Greatness."

The billboard will be able to be seen from the Knicks' offices on the corner of 34th and 8th.

The Knicks are in the market for another three-point shooter to spread the floor in Mike D'Antoni's up-tempo offense.
