Juwan Howard said there would be a discussion on potentially bringing back Michigan's Final Four banners from the 1992 and 1993 seasons.
Howard was part of the Fab Five era that lead Michigan to back-to-back NCAA championship games.
NCAA sanctions forced Michigan to vacate victories from the two seasons, leading to the removal of the banners.
"We worked extremely hard. We sacrificed a lot, went through a ton of adversity, earned every minute of it. That is something on the table that we as [an athletic department staff] will definitely revisit. We're not making any promises. That's all I can say at this moment," responded Howard when asked about the topic during his introductory press conference as Michigan head coach.
Jimmy King, a member of the Fab Five, attended Howard's introduction and said that there would be no more hard feelings between the former teammates.
"We're not bringing any beef or drama here, anything that would distract from Juwan doing his best job here. Immediately, it's over. We will be here this year."
LeBron James Jr. and Bryce James are moving from the Crossroads School in Santa Monica to Sierra Canyon.
The James' family decision was motivated by basketball.
Dwyane Wade's son, Zaire, is also transferring to Sierra Canyon.
Bronny James will be a freshman next season while Zaire Wade will be a senior.
Anthony Cowan Jr. announced that he will return to Maryland for his senior season after having entered his name in the NBA draft.
Cowan Jr., who averaged 15.6 points and 4.4 assists, was Maryland's leading scorer last season.
Teammate Bruno Fernando, projected to be a 1st round pick, remained in the draft.
Sam Hauser and Joey Hauser announced their transfers to Virginia and Michigan State respectively.
Sam, older by 19 months, was the top-ranked sit-out transfer according to ESPN. Joey was ranked 3rd on the list.
Sam has 1 season of eligibility remaining, while Joey has 2 more seasons with a chance to get a 3rd. Both will sit out next season.
RJ Hampton has signed a contract with the New Zealand Breakers of the Australian National Basketball League.
Hampton is the No. 5 prospect in the class of 2019. Hampton's decision comes as a surprise after he cut his college recruitment list in recent days to Kansas, Memphis and Texas Tech. He had also previously considered scholarship offers from Duke, Kentucky and others.
Hampton becomes the first American player to willingly forgo college for playing international basketball, unlike players such as Brandon Jennings, Emmanuel Mudiay and Terrance Ferguson, who signed overseas amid concerns regarding their academic or amateur status.
"My No. 1 goal is to play in the NBA," Hampton told ESPN. "I wanted to be an NBA player before I ever wanted to be a college player. This is about getting ready for the next level faster and more efficiently.
"Both of my parents went to college. My mom got her master's degree. Education is a big thing in our family, but this is about focusing 100 percent on basketball. You can always go back to college, but there's only a short window as an athlete where you can play professional basketball, and I want to take advantage of that. I think that challenging yourself on a daily basis is the best way to improve."
Silvio De Sousa is eligible to play for Kansas after winning his appeal and getting reinstated by the NCAA.
De Sousa was declared ineligible by the NCAA in February for this past season and the upcoming season due to his connection in an FBI probe.
"I'm so excited to be able to come back to Kansas to play and to continue my education. It's an amazing feeling. I want to thank the NCAA committee for the opportunity to do what I really want to do. All those days and nights wondering what would happen, this makes it all worth it," said De Sousa in a statement.
Jerry Stackhouse hired Ricardo Patton to be his senior advisor at Vanderbilt.
The 60-year-old Patton, who has experience coaching in Tennessee, was most recently an assistant at Denver. He coached Colorado from 1996 to 2007, making 2 NCAA tournament appearances.
Patton joins David Grace, Adam Mazarei and Faragi Phillips on Stackhouse's staff.
Michael Lewis was hired as an assistant to UCLA head coach Mick Cronin.
Lewis was previously an assistant at Nebraska, focusing primarily on offense and developing the program's guards.
Lewis joins associate head coach Darren Savino and assistant Rod Palmer on the UCLA staff.
Jalen Rose said that Juwan Howard's hiring as Michigan coach would resolve longstanding tension within the Fab Five, specifically between him and Chris Webber.
"There will be no splintering. There will be no disrespect. It's about following Juwan as the leader of the program," said Rose.
Rose added that he has no more "beef" with Webber, with the fracture of their relationship stemming from the fallout of a financial scandal during the Fab Five era.
Webber agreed with Rose, adding that Howard's hire "would bring everyone back together."
