Jordan Hicks will play next season for Union Rennes, a team located in France.

“Having an opportunity to play professional basketball is a surreal feeling and comes with a mixed bag of emotions after everything I’ve been through,” Hicks said. “I am excited to get to France, am ready to get back to work on the court and look forward to meeting my new teammates and coaches.”

Hicks played four seasons at Loyola, averaging 7.0 points and 3.6 rebounds over 103 appearances.

Olympiacos BC has signed Ioannis Papapetrou to a five-year deal worth approximately $2 million, according to sources with knowledge of the deal.

Papapetrou averaged 8.3 points and 4.4 rebounds as a freshman for the Texas Longhorns last season.

Papapetrou recently played for the Greek national team at the U-20 European Championships.

Kyle Weaver has signed with Napoli Basket of Italy.

Weaver was a second round pick in 2008 by the Charlotte Bobcats and subsequently traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Weaver has mainly played in the D-League along with brief stints in the NBA, Belgium and Germany.

Jarvis Varnado will be with the Miami Heat for training camp.

A report in La Gazzetta dello Sports indicated Varnado was close to a deal in Italy.

"Fact is, Jarvis is under contract with the Heat. Jarvis hasn't accepted any offer from any team in Europe and Jarvis plans on playing for the Heat next year," Frankel said. "There's a lot of teams in Europe that have contacted us about Jarvis and his plans."

Sidigas Avellino is the Italian SerieA team that has been linked to Varnado.

Lucas Nogueira will remain in Spain next season with Asefa Estudiantes.

Nogueira was a first round pick in June by the Atlanta Hawks.

The Hawks have a deep frontcourt in Al Horford and Mike Scott, along with the additions of Paul Millsap, Elton Brand, Pero Antic and Gustavo Ayon.

“We are very encouraged by what we’ve seen from Lucas this summer,” general manager Danny Ferry told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Monday. “Going back to Estudiantes will allow him to continue develop while also playing meaningful minutes against very good competition. Gary Forbes is working out for the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, according to a source.

Forbes will also have a workout for the New York Knicks next week.

Forbes played in China last season with the Zhejiang Lions.

Lawal played last season with Virtus Roma of Italy, averaging 13.7 points and 8.4 rebounds.

Alexis Ajinca has agreed to sign with Strasbourg of France.

Ajinca will have an out to sign an NBA contract until September 30.

Ajinca returned to France during the lockout after playing 71 career NBA games over three seasons with the Charlotte Bobcats, Dallas Mavericks and Toronto Raptors.

Mike Muscala has signed with Blusens Monbus Obradoiro of Spain's ACB League.

Muscala was a second round pick by the Atlanta Hawks out of Bucknell.

Muscala averaged 5.8 points and 5.2 rebounds over five games in the Vegas Summer League.
