All-Time EuroLeague Leading Scorer Vassilis Spanoulis Announces Retirement

Vassilis Spanoulis, the all-time leading scorer in EuroLeague, announced his retirement on Instagram after a 21-year professional career.

"Basketball gave me a unique journey full of intense moments and great emotions. It gave me everything and I gave it everything," wrote Spanoulis on Instagram. "Olympiacos proved to be my destiny and my most beautiful port. I leave proud of what was greatly accomplished, but also of what was lost after a hard battle. Above all, I leave full, because I played longer than I dreamed."

The 39-year-old won the EuroLeague title three times and was voted the Final Four MVP each time.

Spanoulis also ranks first in the EuroLeague in assists, field goals made, free throws, and fouls drawn.

Spanoulis played 31 games for the Rockets during the 2006-07 season, averaging 2.7 points.

Ousmane Dieng has committed to become the first European prospect to join the New Zealand Breakers as part of the NBL's Next Stars program.

Dieng is the first European prospect to join the NBL's Next Stars program.

Dieng is currently the No. 14 prospect on ESPN's rankings for the 2022 draft.

Dieng was heavily recruited to play major college basketball and join the NBA's G-League Ignite program ahead of his entry into the 2022 NBA draft.
