Mike Finger reports for the San Antonio Express News that, while Sean Elliott has a clause in his new 2-year broadcasting contract that lets him walk away to sign on with a team, he doesn't expect to actually use it. "I envision that this whole year I'll be behind the mike and calling games. If something pops up ? something that's just extraordinary ? and makes me leave the microphone, then I might jump at that opportunity," Elliott said.

The Sporting News' Johnny Ludden speculates that the Spurs might give Elliott a few months rest and ask him to rejoin the team toward the end of the year to provide some veteran savvy in the playoffs.
