On those nights when he was trying to work his post-transplant body back into shape or those dozens of others when he simply felt winded from chasing his man through one too many screens, Sean Elliott used to joke that he could always find his rest on offense.

After three years of watching the Spurs dump the ball into Tim Duncan or David Robinson, Elliott became so accustomed to camping out in corners that he nicknamed himself Roach.

"You would enter the ball and then just stand and watch," Antonio Daniels said. "It would be like, 'OK, Dave and Tim, you guys go score.'"

For Daniels and the rest of the Spurs' perimeter players, the days of loitering might soon be over.
