According to Peter Vecsey of the New York Post the changes in Atlanta have not stopped with the firing of ex-coach Lon Krueger.

Vecsey writes that the Hawks are trying to arrange a trade involving scoring phenom Jason Terry, and the Blazers and Heat are "ardently interested" in acquiring dynamic guard.

Terry, a restricted free agent after this season, currently leads his team in assists at 7.4 per game, which is good enough for sixth in the NBA.  Terry's current contract fits under the rookie scale, meaning his fiscal value is well below his actual playing value, which in turn means that more players would need to be added if the Hawks wish to get anything of similar value that is not also on a cheap rookie contract.

Miami is reportedly offering Atlanta the choice of either Brian Grant or Eddie Jones -- both of whom are under contract for the next four years at maximum-type money -- meaning another player such as Alan Henderson at least would need to be added by the Hawks.

The question RealGM asks is would the Hawks be willing to take on such a hefty contract(s) with high priced players Shareef Abdur-Rahim and Glenn Robinson on the team, or would they be better off just giving some of that money to Terry who has been highly effective for the Hawks?

Vescey also writes that Portland's proposals have incorportated just about every player on their roster with the exception of Rasheed Wallace and Zach Randolph.  One of the Blazers guards - Damon Stoudamire, Jeff McInnis, Derek Anderson, Bonzi Wells or Antonio Daniels - would need to be included for playing time to be opened up for Terry.  While Wells remains the most logical choice from the Hawks point of view he does carry a lot of baggage with him, and not coincidentally according to Vescey Daniels did start his first game of the season Friday against the Celtics.
