Bulls forward Marcus Fizer could have been a New York Knick only months ago writes Marc Berman of the New York Post, but Knicks GM Scott Layden passed on adding a $3 million salary without giving up one.  The reason why the Knicks passed is because Fizer would have counted as double his salary to the organization due to luxury tax implications, but they way the 24 year old has been playing passing on has quickly turned into a mistake.

Fizer, who could not even see court time for the Bulls in November, has quickly turned around his season and is now playing as one of the Bulls best players, averaging 10.8 points and 5.4 rebounds in only 20 minutes.

Berman believes the Knicks may make another run at Fizer at this year's trade deadline with Atlanta's forgotten man Nazr Mohammed another option.
