There will be a meeting today between Michael Jordan and Washington owner Abe Pollin and probably a few less significant millionaires. If all goes well, Jordan gets his office back with the Wizards and we can all go back to laughing at the Mets.

And if it doesn't go well, he could be one step closer to joining the Atlanta Hawks.

(Didn't see that coming, did you? Stop laughing or I'm taking my hallucinogenics and going home.)

Jordan is done as a player. Again. But he wants to reclaim his previous position with the Wizards as "president of basketball operations." Pollin isn't sure how committed Jordan is and, let's face it, every move during his executive tenure hasn't panned out.

Suddenly, it's a chilled relationship. Jordan just assumed he would be welcomed back to the front office. ("I don't know how we got off the same page," he told the Washington Post.) Otherwise, Jordan reportedly gets what amounts to $10 million. But he is not simply going to leave the NBA. It's believed Nike has killed for less.
