While hungry candidates continue to wait for their first shot at being an NBA head coach, Tim Floyd has just been given his second.

The Hornets' decision to hire Floyd has been met with considerable head-scratching.

Over three seasons with the Bulls, Floyd fashioned a record of 49-190, a winning percentage of .205, which -- according to the acerbic ESPN.com columnist Ray Ratto -- is easily the worst of any coach in any sport with a minimum of 200 games on his r?sum?.

Given that Floyd was being asked to guide the Bulls after Michael Jordan had left and the team had been gutted, nobody is foolish enough to suggest such an abysmal record was all the coach's fault.

Yet, he also was not believed to have earned his way to the top of anybody's second-chance list. So how did Floyd get the job?
