Marc Stein's report on Thursday had several sources say that Stephon Marbury would end up with Boston when he becomes a free agent after his buyout from the Knicks.

But Alan Hahn of Newsday isn't ready to fully expect Marbury with the Celtics.

"Marc Stein is well-connected, so he is generally accurate with things he reports," writes Hahn.  "But I remain skeptical with his report on ESPN.com that Stephon Marbury will join the Boston Celtics once he reaches a buyout with the Knicks.

"Stein says a source told him Kevin Garnett hasn't said anything against having Marbury join the team, but there is always concerns when it comes to Marbury. I can tell you this: LeBron James and the Cavaliers certainly hope Marbury brings his crazy up to Beantown.

"It's a curious fit for Marbury, who wouldn't get a lot of minutes behing Rondo and would have to contend with Eddie House for ticks at the two behind Ray Allen. Marbury and House have a private feud, which came public during a pre-season game at the Garden in October. How does that get settled in the Boston locker room?

"But Marbury may prefer to latch on to a winner just to clean up his reputation and hope he can parlay a respectable playoff run into a new contract in July."
