Philadelphia guard Allen Iverson did not make the trip to Boston with his teammates ahead of Friday night's game against the Celtics.
Iverson is dealing with left knee arthritis and a left shoulder contusion.
The team said Iverson underwent an MRI on Thursday, which revealed the extent of his injuries.
"I kinda heard he was battling a couple injuries, but still playing," Celtics forward Paul Pierce said. "There would have been a great buzz in the building [Friday] to have Iverson back. But, hey, we still gotta show up and play."
Iverson is averaging 15.6 points and 4.2 assists with the 76ers.
