The Boston Celtics will be without Shaquille O’Neal in Game 2 of their first round series against the New York Knicks.

"[Team physician] Dr. [Brian] McKeon came to me about an hour [before practice] and said, 'We're not even going to put him on the floor; we're not even going to try,'" said Rivers.

The team tried to put O'Neal through a simulated pregame workout Saturday, but he experienced immediate soreness before being ruled out for Game 1.
