Isaiah Austin, a top-four recruit nationally in the class of 2012, is eager to be a part of a Baylor program that is quickly becoming one of the elite recruiters in the country.

“I fit into that program perfectly. Everybody’s long and athletic and agile,” Austin said. “That’s what coach (Scott) Drew likes, to get out and run, and that’s what I like to do, so that’s why I chose there.”

Drew has told Austin to focus on certain areas.

“He really just told me to stay on my toes on defense and get my hands on a lot of tipped balls — contest shots, block shots, rebound and then the offense is going to come,” Austin said. “I’ll crash the offense boards, and that’s how I’ll get my points. If I get touches, I’ll make the most of the touches I get.”
