While the New Orleans Pelicans have received trade calls on Jrue Holiday, sources tell William Guillory of The Athletic that he has yet to request a trade from the franchise.

Holiday was traded by the Philadelphia 76ers to the Pelicans in 2013 and then signed a five-year, $131.8 million extension in 2017. The Pelicans are trying to build around their young duo of Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram, which put them on a slower timetable than Holiday's prime may allow.

"He’s still open to the idea of making it work with this young roster," writes Guillory. "He also recognizes how special the Williamson-Ingram combination could be one day, and being part of their ascension is something that’s intrigued several veterans around the league."

Holiday can become a free agent in 2021.
