The Los Angeles Lakers and Atlanta Hawks have reportedly had little-to-no trade discussions involving Dejounte Murray in recent days. It's gone as far as being termed "unrealistic" that Murray lands in Los Angeles before the trade deadline.

Part of the reason for that is the Hawks have had no interest in taking on D'Angelo Russell. And from the Lakers side, Russell has played better since being reinserted into the starting lineup. That's lessened their desire to move the veteran guard in a deal.

Los Angeles had reportedly offered Russell, a 2029 first-round pick and a future first-round pick swap as the base of a package for Murray. But any deal was contingent on finding a third team to take Russell.
