The Atlanta Hawks have waived Isaiah Taylor.

Taylor appeared in 67 games last season for the Hawks, starting nine, and averaged 6.6 points, 3.1 assists and 1.4 rebounds in 17.4 minutes (.418 FG%, .702 FT%). He was signed by Atlanta on October 17, 2017.

Wilson Chandler, Courtney Lee and Kent Bazemore are three players who are available in trade talks this offseason.

The Denver Nuggets are attempting to cut salary to reduce their tax bill and Chandler is on an expiring contract.

Lee is a trade candidate as the New York Knicks also have Tim Hardaway Jr. at shooting guard and drafted Kevin Knox at small forward.

The Atlanta Hawks are on a multi-year rebuild and they've been trying to unload Bazemore.

The Atlanta Hawks, Chicago Bulls and Sacramento Kings have signaled they plan on using their prized cap space to take on bad salary and extra draft picks. Teams could be looking to decrease their luxury tax bill or to create cap space.

The decision from the Kings is interesting considering they don't own their first round draft pick this season as part of their trade with the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Hawks and Bulls are embarking on multi-year rebuilds.

The Atlanta Hawks will not tender a qualifying offer to Josh Magette.

Magette will be a restricted free agent.

Magette played in 18 games last season with the Hawks.

The Detroit Pistons have agreed to hire Malik Rose as assistant general manager.

Rose had been part of the Atlanta Hawks' front office since 2015.

The Pistons parted ways with Stan Van Gundy and Jeff Bower this offseason.

Mike Muscala has exercised his $5 million player option with the Atlanta Hawks.

Muscala signed a two-year, $10 million deal with the Hawks in the 2017 offseason.

The Dallas Mavericks had the option to swap Wesley Matthews for Kent Bazemore instead of sending a future first round pick to the Atlanta Hawks in their draft night trade.

Bazemore is owed $18.1 million in 18-19 and $19.27 million in 19-20 compared to just $18.6 million in total to Wesley Matthews.

The Mavericks found that price to be too high and instead send a pick to the Hawks that is top-5 protected in each of the next two seasons, top-3 in 2021 and 2022, and unprotected in 2023.

Travis Schlenk told 95.7 The Game in San Francisco on Friday that the Atlanta Hawks had a deal in place to acquire the No. 17 pick from the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for a draft pick.

But Schlenk ended up not executing the trade after it leaked that the Bucks were going to take Donte DiVincenzo instead of Kevin Huerter.

"Last night, for instance, we had the 19th pick and we're coming down and we're actually talking to Milwaukee on the 17th pick, talking about trading up to get a guy we like," Schlenk said. "There's were a couple of guys we felt really good about on the 19th pick, obviously Kevin [Huerter] was one of them, and it leaked who Milwaukee was going to take.

"So, all of a sudden, we were able to pull back out of that deal and keep the draft pick instead of packaging picks to move up because we knew that two guys on the board we felt really good about and only one team in between us so that was beneficial to us last night."

The Atlanta Hawks have agreed to sign Jaylen Adams to a two-way contract.

Adams went undrafted out of St. Bonaventure.

The Dallas Mavericks have agreed upon a trade with the Atlanta Hawks to move up to No. 3 to select Luka Doncic.

The Mavericks will send a future first round pick (top-5 protected for 2019 and 2020, top-3 protected in 2021 and 2022, and unprotected in 2023), along with the No. 5 pick to the Hawks.

The Hawks needed Trae Young to remain available when the Mavericks selected at No. 5 for the deal to be consummated. 

Dallas and Atlanta had been discussing a trade swap throughout the day on Thursday.

"What a day," Rick Carlisle said. "We're very fortunate. We get a guy that we think is a franchise-foundation piece. It's a big day for us."

The Mavericks expect Doncic to start as a rookie.

"I would project him as a starter right now," Carlisle said. "And then we'll see how it all goes. I stood up here last year and said the same thing about Dennis (Smith Jr.) and he started every game he was available. And I see the same kinds of things for Doncic. I have a really strong feeling that he and Dennis will complement each other extremely well."
