Stephen Curry Re-Injures Ankle

Oct 30, 2010 10:11 AM

Stephen Curry re-injured his right ankle in the third quarter of the team's win over the Clippers on Friday night.

Curry left the game and did not return. He originally hurt the ankle in the preseason.

"It's more rehab; that's all that means," Curry said.

"Just got to be smart about it now and try to get it back to 100 percent and get it stronger so that even if I do step on somebody's foot I can recover. We'll find out tomorrow and see how it reacts."

Warriors Won't Be Impacted On Floor By Ownership Limbo

Oct 28, 2010 9:51 AM

The Warriors began the 10-11 season with a victory over the Rockets and without a new ownership group as the NBA Board of Governors has yet to approve Joe Lacob and Peter Guber.

"Our team is set. Our coaching staff is set. Everything affecting us is set," Stephen Curry said. "It won't affect our play on the court while we wait."

Warriors Sign Adrien To Non-Guaranteed Deal

Oct 26, 2010 5:24 PM

The Warriors have signed free-agent forward Jeff Adrien to a non-guaranteed deal.

Adrien will fill the team's final roster spot.

"We've taken 15 spots for right now," general manager Larry Riley said.

"Jeff is on our roster. We think he's earned an opportunity to stay with us. Having said that, of course, we'll continue to search throughout the year -- whether it be this week or whether it be at the trade deadline -- we'll continue to try to find ways to improve our basketball team."

Lacob Close To Officially Owning Warriors

Oct 19, 2010 4:44 PM

The ownership group led by Joe Lacob is close to officially becoming the new owner of the Warriors, according to sources.

Lacob isn't expected to get the vote he desired during this week's meeting of the NBA's Board of Governors and he may not take over the team before the start of the regular season.

However, multiple sources claim that Lacob's financing is in place and that he'll own the Warriors no later than the first week of November.

The NBA confirmed on Monday that it didn't have a Warriors' sale vote on its agenda for this week's meeting in New York.

Warriors Protecting Lin From Media Requests

Oct 17, 2010 10:17 AM

The Warriors have been protecting rookie guard Jeremy Lin from being bombarded with media requests as the regular season approaches.

Lin, a former Harvard standout, was signed as an undrafted free agent by his hometown NBA team.

He has the opportunity to become the first Asian-American player in the NBA since the mid 1950s.

Lin is battling with former Kansas guard Aaron Miles for Golden State's third point guard slot.

"It's obviously fun and exciting, but every day you are coming to work," he said. "At the same time, I'm really excited, but then on the other hand, I'm serious about everything because there's a lot to be learned."

Smart Continuing To Change Defensive Culture Of Warriors

Oct 15, 2010 1:52 AM

Keith Smart continues to emphasize defense, though the Warriors still have a long ways to go to become legitimately strong at that end of the floor.

"I'm pretty sure we won't be a top-five defensive team," point guard Stephen Curry said after practice Thursday. "But I guarantee you won't see us in the bottom third of defensive stats like we were last year."

"My thing is," Smart said, "no matter who you're playing, (the question is) if you're in place and your concepts are good. You want to make sure you are where you're supposed to be defensively, make sure your communication is still there. And the other part of that is are we playing hard? We're not satisfied, but we're moving in the right direction."

Biedrins Benefits From Coaching Change

Oct 14, 2010 11:35 AM

Andris Biedrins and Don Nelson had a tumultuous relationship, which has made the transition to playing for Keith Smart relatively easy.

"I always had a great relationship with Coach Smart," Biedrins told FanHouse this week, opting to answer a question regarding the past by instead looking to the suddenly-brighter future. "I'm really glad that he's now in the head coach position. He has seen things from the last couple of years that we were missing, and now we're changing a couple things.

"Last season overall was very frustrating for me. I had the injuries and the surgery and all that stuff. I think (the coaching change) came at the right time, so I'm really glad."

Adrien Has Chance To Make Golden State Roster

Oct 10, 2010 6:45 PM

Former Connecticut forward Jeff Adrien has a good chance to make the regular-season roster of the Warriors, according to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe.

Golden State needs rebounding help and Adrien's non-guaranteed contract makes him an attractive piece as well.

Adrien played in Spain last season.
