Apr 27, 2010 2:11 PM

After signing two 10-day contracts with the Warriors, Anthony Tolliver ended up sticking in Golden State for three months.

"I think there is a lot more to come," Tolliver said. "I'm excited about taking this offseason and working to get even better.

"The last few months have been awesome."

At this time a year ago, Tolliver was playing basketball in Turkey.

He hopes to re-sign with the Warriors, but he's open to other offers heading into the offseason.

Monta Not Looking To Be Traded From Warriors

Apr 14, 2020 12:31 PM

With Stephen Curry having a successful rookie season, it is possible that the Warriors could move Monta Ellis in the offseason.

"I don't know what is going to happen this summer. I don't know," Ellis said before Tuesday's 103-94 loss to Utah. "It's really out of my control.

"I'm not looking to be moved. I'm not asking to be traded. I'm here for the next four years unless they move me."

"People keep asking if those two guys can play together, and we've seen a bunch of it," said general manager Larry Riley, who said Ellis is "pretty likely" to be back with the Warriors. "We need to see consistency instead of it happening here and there. We'd like to feel like they're going to play well together nine out of 10 times."

Curry on Tuesday said of he and Ellis, "our relationship has had steady growth. We've gotten to know each other and gotten comfortable playing with each other on the floor. We've figured out what it's going to take to be effective if we're on the court at the same time.

"He's talking to me a lot more. We've come a long way since that first day."

NBA Takes Rookie Vote Away From Dell Curry

Apr 14, 2010 6:26 AM

Preventing a conflict of interest, the NBA has taken Bobcats broadcaster and former player Dell Curry's Rookie of the Year vote away.

Stephen Curry, Dell's son, is one of the leading candidates for the award.

"Oh, he's voting for Tyreke," Stephen Curry joked Tuesday night. "That's good for me then. ... Just to be in that conversation is great for me."

NBA spokesman Tim Frank says Dell Curry will be allowed to vote for all the other postseason awards.

Nelson Aims To Coach 10-11 Season

Apr 14, 2010 6:20 AM

Warriors coach Don Nelson will return to the team for the 2010-11 season.

Nelson said Tuesday night that he would honor the final year of his contract and Golden State general manager Larry Riley said that would be the case barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Last week Nelson became the NBA's all-time winningest coach.

"I really like the players in the other room. I think they play the game the right way," Nelson said. "There's a very strong bond in there, especially with our younger guys. ... There's a whole lot of positives going on in the other room. My motivation is to do a good job and develop the team and do what coaches do -- and I'm under contract to do that."

Nellie Finally Gets Win Record

Apr 8, 2010 9:55 AM

Don Nelson passed Lenny Wilkens for the most wins in NBA history with a 116-107 victory over Minnesota on Wednesday with a modest amount of fanfare.

Nelson now has 1,333 career victories.

"Nellie hadn't said one thing to us about the record. He just wanted to come out and coach and find ways to win some games with the people he has," forward Corey Maggette said. "Until he got the record, he didn't mention it. Then, he called us together and told us that he loves us."

"Maybe everyone will stop hating now that he has the record," said guard Stephen Curry, who had 27 points, 14 assists, eight rebounds and seven steals.

The Warriors have won four out of their past six games.

George Wants To Re-Sign With Warriors

Apr 7, 2010 4:26 PM

Devean George wants to re-sign with the Warriors.

"I want to stay here and play under Nellie," George told FanHouse on Tuesday night. "I like it. I just like the freedom to play ball. If you play hard for coach, he loves you. If you play hard, he has no problems ... He gives you freedom. He's really easy to play for."

George has three championship rings and once declined a trade to the Nets because the team didn't have a bright future.

"There's a niche (with Golden State) that I can help. And really with a young team, you need a mixture of guys on the team. You need some vets, you need some some guys who have been through it," the forward added.

Wilkins Expects Nelson To Break Record This Season

Apr 6, 2010 3:44 PM

Lenny Wilkins doesn't expect to see his name in the record books much longer.

Wilkins is currently tied with Warriors coach Don Nelson for the most coaching victories in NBA history.

"I did talk to Nellie (Monday). He seems happy, and I'm happy for him," Wilkens said in a phone interview with Bay Area News Group. "What do they have? Six games left? He'll break the record."

The two currently share the record with 1,332 wins.

Wilkins has sat at the top for 15 years, but Nelson can take over sole possession with a win over the Wizards on Tuesday.

Nelson Ties Wilkins For Coaching Mark

Apr 5, 2010 6:24 AM

Warriors coach Don Nelson tied Lenny Wilkens for the most wins by an NBA coach on Sunday night.

Golden State defeated Toronto 113-112 to move Nelson into a deadlock with Wilkens.

"What a game to tie the record," Nelson said. "Unbelievable. It had about everything you'd want, from good to bad to playing great to wetting the bed, and we did about all of it. Somehow we prevailed."

Nelson has won 1,332 games as a coach in the NBA.

Golden State's players danced around Nelson after the final buzzer. He can surpass Wilkens with a win on Tuesday over Washington.

"You live for moments like that, when the team wants something more than you do yourself," Nelson said of the postgame celebration. "They're just so happy that we got it together as a group, that they were part of it."
