The results were inconclusive and the Golden State Warriors' doctors will confer about next steps.

Stephen Curry: Spurs Are The Standard

Jan 23, 2016 7:03 PM

The San Antonio Spurs play the Golden State Warriors for the first time this season in a highly anticipated game between the two best teams in the NBA.

The Spurs have a +15.4 Efficiency Differential compared to +12.1 for the Warriors.

“I know them pretty well,” Steve Kerr said. “It’s remarkable to me that I’m 50 years old and have been retired for 13 years, and they have three guys and a coach who are still on that team.

“It makes no sense. The continuity and the program they’ve built is amazing.”

The Spurs have won five titles between 1999 and 2014.

“That’s why they’re legends or why they’re going to be legends when they’re done,” Stephen Curry said. “Obviously, those three guys and Coach Popovich are the main foundation of that, but they’ve been able to add pieces as they’ve gone through their careers and stay at a high level. It’s a lot about the tone and atmosphere and expectations that they set.

“When you wear a Spurs uniform, you better be ready to elevate your game to their level. That’s the most impressive thing. … They’re the standard.”

Warriors Enjoying Luke Walton, Anticipate He'll Soon Be Head Coach Candidate

Jan 23, 2016 2:50 PM

Luke Walton is expected to be a candidate for head coaching jobs after he did so well filling in for Steve Kerr on an interim basis.

The Golden State Warriors are enjoying having him on the bench in the meantime.

“Luke was the right guy to guide the ship, and he’s got the right temperament,” Kerr said Friday. “He obviously will be a head coach before long on a more permanent basis, but I’m hoping we can keep him around here for a lot longer.”

“It’s kind of frustrating, because Luke’s my guy, and now, he’s going to be gone next year - if any GMs are smart,” Draymond Green said. “I’ve got to cherish these last 40 games of the regular season and then the playoffs, because they’re about to take my guy.”

Steve Kerr Has Ramped Up Involvement, Warriors Optimistic On Return

Jan 20, 2016 7:41 PM

The Golden State Warriors are optimistic Steve Kerr will be back on the bench as head coach soon.

“More and more, the further we go into the season,” Luke Walton said Wednesday of Kerr’s involvement at the end of his longest road trip of the season. “It’s daily talks now that he’s with us on the road. It’s matchups. It’s bouncing ideas off of each other. Besides not being the coach on the bench during games, he’s very much involved in the decisions and the prep work.”

Kerr started a leave of absence on Oct. 1.

“He does look a lot better lately. It’s great having him on the road, and you can see his energy looks better.”

Stephen Curry No. 1 On Jersey Sales List, Kristaps Porzingis No. 4

Jan 20, 2016 11:10 AM

Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors retained top honors on the NBA’s Most Popular Jersey and Team Merchandise lists.

Results are based on NBAStore.com sales from October 2015 through December 2015 and reflect a record-breaking holiday shopping season. NBAStore.com had its largest Black Friday (Nov. 27) and Cyber Monday (Nov. 30) in history, with combined sales up 20 percent from the previous year.

Rounding out the top five players are the Cleveland Cavaliers’ LeBron James (No. 2), the Los Angeles Lakers’ Kobe Bryant (No. 3), the New York Knicks’ Kristaps Porzingis (No. 4), who earned a spot on the list for the first time after a sensational start to his rookie year, and the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant (No. 5).

The Warriors once again emerged as the top-selling team, followed by the Chicago Bulls at No. 2, the Cavaliers at No. 3, the Lakers at No. 4 and the Knicks at No. 5.

Cavs Feel Stephen Curry's Champagne Quote 'Disrespectful'

Jan 18, 2016 5:13 PM

The Golden State Warriors won the championship last season at the Cleveland Cavaliers, making Quicken Loans Arena a special place for the team.

"Obviously, walking in the locker room, it'll be good memories," Curry said Sunday. "Hopefully, it still smells a little bit like champagne."

The Warriors are 37-4, midway through their regular season.

"Thirty-seven and four, I'm pretty happy that it bothers us that we laid an egg last night and some people feel a certain type of way about it, and that's good for us to try to turn it around," Curry said. "It obviously shows that we're on a mission to do something big this year."

Sources are telling Chris Hayes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer that members of the Cavaliers have taken exception to the quote and viewed it as "disrespectful."

Warriors Push Back San Francisco Arena Opening To 2019

Jan 15, 2016 8:04 PM

The Golden State Warriors have pushed back the opening of their new arena in San Francisco to 2019.

The Warriors claim the CEQA (California Environmental Quality Act) lawsuit is a last resort brought on by what they are calling an “anonymous SuperPAC” despite EIR (environmental Impact Report) approval by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.

The group that filed the lawsuit— the Mission Bay Alliance— has responded calling it a “victory for opponents of the Warriors ill-conceived” complex.
