Scott Perry Leaving Knicks With Contract Expiring

May 30, 2023 10:27 PM

Scott Perry will leave the New York Knicks with his contract set to expire.

Perry joined the front office of the Knicks in 2017 and spanned multiple front office regimes from Steve Mills to Leon Rose. Perry was hired by the Knicks after he had a brief three-month stint with the Sacramento Kings.

Perry's voice diminished over time with William Wesley and Gerrson Rosas taking prominent roles.

Knicks Attempted To Acquire Malik Beasley, Jarred Vanderbilt From Jazz At Deadline

May 26, 2023 7:54 AM

The New York Knicks attempted to acquire Malik Beasley and Jarred Vanderbilt at the trade deadline in a deal with the Utah Jazz that would have sent out Evan Fournier, sources tell Jake Fischer of Yahoo.

The Knicks previously pursued Beasley in 2020 when he was a restricted free agent.

Gersson Rosas, who is now with the New York front office, signed Beasley to a four-year, $60 million deal when he was running the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Evan Fournier On Knicks: There's No Way They're Gonna Keep Me

May 13, 2023 1:03 PM

Evan Fournier has enjoyed his time with the New York Knicks. Fournier is also realistic that his time in New York is likely coming to an end.

“You know I’m not gonna be back,” Fournier said. “There’s no way they’re gonna keep me. I would be very surprised if they do. So, we’ll see. It’s obviously not in my hands though.”

The veteran wing was dropped from the Knicks rotation early in the season. Fournier appeared in a career-low 27 games last season with seven starts. Despite the lack of action, Fournier was regularly lauded for his attitude and staying ready when his number was called. The 11-year veteran knows New York is invested in young players and that his $18.9 million salary is a reason he could be traded.

“I mean, wouldn’t you guys be surprised [if I came back?],” Fournier added. “Eleven years in, big contract, they’re obviously trying to develop the young guys. I didn’t play this year, so why would you bring me back?”

Julius Randle: Maybe Heat Want It More

May 9, 2023 12:02 PM

The Miami Heat own a 3-1 series lead over the New York Knicks as they've continued win on hustle plays in particular. The Heat outrebounded the Knicks 44-35 and had seven offensive rebounds in the fourth quarter.

"Maybe they want it more," Julius Randle said. "I don't know. That's been who we are all year and we got to find a way to step up and make those plays, keep the season alive."

"I think that we found the value in the grind of a regular season," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "In the grind and the struggle. I've said that repeatedly. We found a beauty in that struggle, but without that struggle where we didn't have to find different solutions to win and different guys stepping up so that they had the confidence for these kind of moments. If we didn't have a regular season, then you have zero chance to be able to do that in the playoffs."

"My mindset I think going forward, we're on the brink of elimination, so [give] everything you got," Jalen Brunson said. "That should be the mindset of everybody. No matter what you do, no matter what you have to do, you just got to go out there and give it your all and keep your confidence. I know it's kind of easy to say, but it's a big thing to keep your confidence."

Charles Oakley Lawsuit Against MSG Reinstated

May 6, 2023 3:24 PM

A federal appeals court panel reinstated Charles Oakley's lawsuit against MSG that was dismissed by a district judge in 2021.

The lawsuit alleges that MSG security used unnecessary force to eject Oakley from the arena back in 2017.

Oakley will also be able to amend his complaint and add James Dolan as an defendant. Dolan allegedly ordered Oakley be removed from the arena.

This is the second time that an appeals court reinstated the lawsuit.
