Josh Hart: Might Have To Change My Style Of Play

Nov 29, 2023 8:36 AM

Josh Hart wanted it made clear that he's not a disgruntled player, despite his unhappiness with his role in the New York Knicks offense. Hart even asked reporters to tweet that he's not disgruntled, after he talked about his role with the Knicks this season.

“I’m a rhythm player. So sometimes if I don’t touch the ball for four or five minutes running up and down the floor, just catch-and-shoot, I might as well be playing with a football,” Hart said. “I feel like I have no feel for [the ball]. There are definitely times I [pass up shots] because I’m not in the rhythm. I don’t like the feel of it.”

Hart went on to sarcastically "agree" with New York coach Tom Thibodeau who said he doesn't feel Hart's role has changed.

“Yeah, we’ll go with that," Hart said when told Thibodeau said Hart's role isn't different from last season.

Still, Hart knows it's on him to adjust to the team and his role, instead of the opposite.

“I might have to change my style of play a little bit,” Hart said. “And be more of a catch-and-shoot kind of guy. It really depends on what the team needs and if that’s what my role and my job is going to be this year, that’s what I have to do. I have to make the most of this situation and make the most of the minutes Thibs gives me.”

James Dolan Steps Down From Board Positions Amid Lawsuit Against Raptors

Nov 21, 2023 12:09 PM

James Dolan resigned his positions on the league's Board of Governors' influential advisory/finance and media committees before launching the New York Knicks' lawsuit against the Toronto Raptors, according to a memo obtained by ESPN.

"Given all that has occurred lately, I have come to the conclusion that the NBA neither needs nor wants my opinion," Dolan wrote in a July memo to Silver that he copied to the other 29 league owners.

Dolan also informed Adam Silver and his peers of his intentions to no longer attend Board of Governor meetings. Knicks general counsel Jamaal Lesane is now representing the franchise at Board of Governor Meetings.

"My hope is that the Knicks will be treated equally and fairly as all other NBA teams," Dolan said in the memo. "... As you know, I am very busy with all my duties at MSG family of companies. I need to apply my time where I can be most productive."

Dolan has become increasingly critical of the NBA and Silver over the past few years.

Knicks Seeking Over $10M In Damages In Lawsuit Against Raptors

Nov 21, 2023 1:06 AM

The New York Knicks are seeking more than $10 million in damages from the Toronto Raptors as part of a lawsuit alleging the theft of confidential files.

The Knicks, who filed the lawsuit on Monday, also argued that Adam Silver should not arbitrate the case due to his close friendship with Raptors governor Larry Tanenbaum.

The Knicks filing was in response to the Raptors' motion to dismiss the complaint on October 16.

The initial complaint accuses a former Knicks employee of sending the Raptors thousands of confidential files after the Raptors began recruiting him in the summer of 2023.

The Raptors declined to comment on the story.
