Tobias Harris Expected To Receive Interest From 76ers, Grizzlies, Jazz, Mavs, Nets

Apr 26, 2019 4:17 PM

Tobias Harris is expected to receive significant interest in free agency this offseason.

While the Philadelphia 76ers will attempt to re-sign Harris following their midseason acquisition, the Memphis Grizzlies, Utah Jazz, Dallas Mavericks and Brooklyn Nets are also expected to pursue Harris.

“It would be selfish of me to not come into this situation with an open mind to make this work for the long term,” Harris told The Athletic in March. “That’s where my mindset is at. I’m a loyal guy to where I am, and if I feel that loyalty back, that is how I operate. For me, it’s just making it work here and figuring out how it will go. So far, it’s been really good. Gotta show that loyalty.”

Rich Cho To Oversee Analytics, Salary Cap Administration For Grizzlies

Apr 19, 2019 9:25 AM

Rich Cho has joined the Memphis Grizzlies in an official capacity after consulting for them this season.

“I had done some part-time work for the Grizzlies during the season, just studying the league and best practices around different teams, starting last September, I started looking around the league, analyzing every team in a number of different categories,” said Cho.

Memphis executive vice president of basketball operations Zach Kleiman interned for Cho with the Charlotte Hornets just seven years ago.

“Yeah, he reached out to me pretty quickly,” Cho said. “Zach did a really good job for us in Charlotte as an intern, he’s a really bright guy and he’s passionate about the game. He’s an extremely hard worker. I’ve watched his career progress from afar and I’m really happy the way things have gone for him, especially that he’s getting this opportunity.”

Kleiman is only 30 years old.

“I don’t think you can necessarily look at a person’s age and say they can’t do the job, because it’s all about opportunity and Zach’s going to do a really good job here,” Cho said.

Cho gives the Grizzlies experience in the front office.

“I’ll be involved in a lot of different aspects of basketball operations,” Cho said. “I’ll be overseeing analytics, all the salary cap administration, and I’ll be advising on player personnel issues, any type of player acquisitions.”

Joakim Noah More Proud Of Comeback With Grizzlies Than All-Star Seasons

Apr 8, 2019 10:09 AM

Joakim Noah has had a bounce back season with the Memphis Grizzlies after a disappointing two-year stint with the New York Knicks.

"Memphis was the only team that showed me any consideration," Noah said.

Noah finished fourth in MVP voting in 2014, but he's more proud of the way he worked his way back with the Grizzlies.

"I'm more proud of this year than I was when I was an All-Star," Noah said. "I lost my confidence on the court in a real public way. You don't know if you are going to get that back. Just to have that feeling back -- to be able to be myself, and express myself on the court -- it feels great."

Noah was asked whether he feels his performance this season will earn him a roster spot somewhere next season.

"F--- yeah," said Noah.
