Jonas Valanciunas and the Memphis Grizzlies are expected to agree to a three-year, $45 million contract when free agency opens.

The Grizzlies acquired Valanciunas as part of the Marc Gasol trade at the deadline.

The Los Angeles Clippers could express interest in Tobias Harris if they are unable to agree to terms with Kawhi Leonard, sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans Pelicans are also expected to pursue Harris.

The Philadelphia 76ers are also making re-signing Harris a priority.

Harris is expected to command a max contract.

Taylor Jenkins discussed the new core of the Memphis Grizzlies after selecting Ja Morant with the second pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

“A dynamic duo...two young players that are hungry (and) already developing a great relationship off the court, and that’s going to translate mightily on the court," assessed Jenkins.

Jenkins was hired by the Grizzlies from Mike Budenholzer's staff this summer.

Jenkins pointed to Morant's unselfish play as another reason why he thinks the point guard will succeed in the league.

The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to sign John Konchar to a Two-Way contract.

Konchar went undrafted out of Purdue-Fort Wayne.

The Detroit Pistons and Memphis Grizzlies also discussed a Mike Conley trade with the Memphis Grizzlies before he was sent to the Utah Jazz.

The Pistons opted against sending two first round picks to the Grizzlies, sources tell Zach Lowe of ESPN. The Grizzlies likely would have had to take on Reggie Jackson in that scenario.

The Pacers also would not relinquish two first round picks and Aaron Holiday.

The Utah Jazz have agreed to acquire Mike Conley Jr. from the Memphis Grizzlies for Jae Crowder, Grayson Allen, Kyle Korver, the No. 23 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft along with a future first round pick.

The Jazz and Grizzlies also discussed a Conley trade at the deadline.

According to Chris Herrington, the first round pick owed to the Grizzlies is protected 1-7 and 15-30 (conveys 8-14) in both 2020 and 2021, protected 1-6 in 2022, 1-3 in 2023, and No. 1 protected in 2024 before converting to two seconds in 2025.

Valanciunas prefers to negotiate a new contract with the Grizzlies. Valanciunas averaged 19.9 points and 10.7 rebounds after joining the Grizzlies from the Toronto Raptors.

The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to hire Taylor Jenkins as assistant coach.

Jenkins was most recently an assistant coach with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Jenkins was previously an assistant coach with the Atlanta Hawks and has head coaching experience in the G League.

Chad Forcier and David Vanderpool are among the candidates who have interviewed for a spot on the coaching staff of Ryan Sanders with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Forcier spent last season as an assistant coach with the Memphis Grizzlies. Previously, Forcier was an assistant coach with the San Antonio Spurs and Orlando Magic.

Vanterpool is a longtime assistant coach with the Portland Trail Blazers.
