Top-25 recruit Aiden Sherrell committed to Alabama on Tuesday.

Sherrell chose the Crimson Tide over Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, and Michigan State.

"Their fast-play style, shooting a lot of 3s and defense fit my game. They evaluated my game and said they can run offense through me, play pick-and-pop or roll down low," said Sherrell.

Alabama have now had four top-25 recruits in their last four classes.

Bronny James did not attend USC's first practice of the season on Monday, but head coach Andy Enfield said the freshman is doing well following his cardiac arrest on July 24th.

"Bronny's doing very well," Enfield said after practice at USC. "But we just can't comment on anything medically. He's going to class and doing extremely well in school, and we're really excited for him."

James was hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. and released three days after the cardiac arrest.

The James family said it was confident in Bronny making a full recovery and a return to the court in the near future.

"He's around when he can be," Enfield said of James on Monday. "And he's getting caught up [with] some schoolwork and doing very well. His grades are excellent right now, and he's being the true student-athlete."

Kon Knueppel announced his commitment to Duke on Thursday.

Knueppel is ranked the No. 22 prospect for the 2024 class.

Knueppel joins Isaiah Evans and Darren Harris to give the program three top-50 recruits for the 2024 class. 

Top-10 prospect Jalil Bethea announced his commitment to Miami.

Currently ranked No. 7 in ESPN's 100 for the 2024 class, Bethea is the Hurricane's highest-ranked recruit in almost 40 years.

"They showed me a lot on my visit. They told me how they will help my game grow. They showed me analytics about my PPP [points per possession] and that it was high. I liked that. They plan for me to play more in pick-and-roll," Bethea explained.

The Hurricanes also received commitments from Austin Swartz and Isaiah Johnson-Arigu for the 2024 class.

The Brooklyn Nets signed Jordan Hall and Keifer Sykes, the team announced on Wednesday.

Both player are expected to join the G League's Long Island Nets for the upcoming season.

Rick Barnes signed a contract extension with Tennessee through the 2027-28 season.

There will be no change to Barnes' supplemental pay of $5.75 million for the last two years of his deal.

The 69-year-old is headed into his ninth season with Tennessee.

Tennessee has made five straight NCAA tournaments under Barnes. 

Sasa Ciani committed to Xavier for the 2023 class, he told Jonathan Givony of ESPN.

The 6-foot-10 center averaged 12.3 points and 8.6 rebounds for the Slovenian national team at the FIBA U20 European Championship.

Jerome Hunter and Zach Freemantle could potentially miss the entire season for Xavier. 

Kim Mulkey has agreed to a 10-year, $32 million extension as head coach of LSU's women's basketball team.

Mulkey led LSU to the 2023 national championship in her second season with the school. Mulkey previously won three titles as head coach at Baylor. Mulkey initially signed an eight-year deal that would pay $22.5 million before incentives.

Mulkey's compensation will keep her right at the top of the highest-paid women's basketball coaches in the country in terms of average annual salary, along with the UConn Huskies' Geno Auriemma and the South Carolina Gamecocks' Dawn Staley.

Austin Swartz committed to Miami on Tuesday, picking the Hurricanes over Clemson.

Swartz is currently ranked as the No. 51 player in the class of 2024 by ESPN.

"I believe Miami and coach [Jim] Larranaga can help reach my goal of making the NBA. They have had success with guards who can shoot and score, recently with Isaiah Wong, who has the same type of size and frame as me. They had Shane Larkin, who could really shoot it deep," Swartz told ESPN.
