LeBron, Kobe Named Players Of The Week

LeBron James and Kobe Bryant have been named the NBA's Players of the Week.

James averaged 23.5 points (fifth in the conference), 9.3 assists (second in the conference), 2.25 steals (third in the conference) and 7.8 rebounds.

Bryant averaged 31.3 points per game, along with 7.7 rebounds and 6.0 assists.

The Heat and Lakers were a combined 7-0 for the week.

Others that were nominated are Atlanta's Al Horford, Boston's Jeff Green, Charlotte's Kemba Walker, Golden State's Jarrett Jack, Houston's James Harden, Indiana's Paul George, Memphis' Zach Randolph, Miami's Dwyane Wade, Oklahoma City's Russell Westbrook, Phoenix's Goran Dragic and Toronto's Rudy Gay.

The Miami Heat’s LeBron James and the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Russell Westbrook have been named Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, Feb. 4 through Sunday, Feb. 10.

James led the Heat to a 4-0 week, which included wins over the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers. He averaged 31.3 points (second in the league) on .738 shooting from the field (second in the league), and added 6.5 rebounds and 5.8 assists. James scored at least 30 points in all four games and shot better than 61 percent from the field in each contest. His streak of 30-plus point games while shooting 60 percent or better stands at five straight, tied with Moses Malone (1981-82 season) and Adrian Dantley (1979-80 season) for the NBA record.

Westbrook guided the Thunder to a 4-0 week, which included wins over the Dallas Mavericks, Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns (twice). He averaged 21.8 points, 6.0 assists, 3.3 steals and 3.0 rebounds. Oklahoma City won each game by 20 or more points as it improved to 39-12 (.765). The Thunder trails the San Antonio Spurs by ∏ game for the top record in the league.

Robinson, Lee Named Players Of The Week

Nate Robinson and David Lee have been named the NBA's Players of the Week.

Robinson and Lee were rookies together with the New York Knicks during the 2005-06 NBA season, and were reunited last season with the Warriors.

Robinson averaged 17.8 points and 6.8 assists per game last week.

Lee averaged 18.0 points, 14.3 rebounds and 7.8 assists.

Lillard, Beal Named Rookies Of The Month For January

Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal have been named the NBA Rookies of the Month for their respective conferences.

Lillared led all rookies with 17.7 points, 6.8 assists, 39.5 minutes and 35 3-pointers made to go with 3.4 rebounds and 1.06 steals for the month.

Beal scored 20 or more points in five games in January.

Both Lillard and Beal also won the award in December.

Thibodeau, Karl Named Coaches Of The Month

The Chicago Bulls’ Tom Thibodeau and the Denver Nuggets’ George Karl have been named the NBA Eastern and Western Conference Coaches of the Month, respectively, for games played in January.

Thibodeau led Chicago to an Eastern Conference-best 12-4 (.750) record in January. At 28-17 on the season, Chicago stands third overall in the East, and they beat both teams ahead of them in January, registering a 96-89 road win over the Miami Heat on Jan. 4 and a 108-101 road win over the New York Knicks on Jan. 11. 

Karl led the Nuggets to a 12-3 (.800) record in January, tied with the San Antonio Spurs for the best record in the league.
