Milton Doyle Named G League Player Of The Week

The NBA G League announced that Brooklyn Nets two-way guard Milton Doyle was named NBA G League Player of the Week for games played Monday, Feb. 5, through Sunday, Feb. 11. This is the first NBA G League Player of the Week honor in Long Island Nets history and the first of Doyle’s career.

Doyle led the Long Island Nets to a 2-0 week, averaging 29.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks in 29.8 minutes per game while shooting 59.4 percent from the field and 61.9 percent from 3-point range.

In Long Island’s 125-119 home victory over the Raptors 905 on Feb. 6, Doyle scored a franchise-record and career-high 42 points with a career-high 11 assists, nine rebounds, two steals and two blocks. He also made a franchise-record 11 3-pointers in the win. Doyle then posted 16 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals in the LI Nets’ 120-111 road win over the Wisconsin Herd on Feb. 10.

Travis Wear Named G League Player Of The Week

Travis Wear has been named the NBA G League Player of the Week for games played Monday, Jan. 29, through Sunday, Feb. 4. 

Wear averaged 24.5 points, 13.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists while shooting 57.6 percent from the field and 50.0% from three-point range in two South Bay wins. The former UCLA standout scored 24 points and grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds as South Bay beat the visiting Northern Arizona Suns, 133-108, on Wednesday night.

 

Wear followed that performance with 25 points and nine rebounds in a victory at Salt Lake City on Friday. Wear shot 62.5% from the field, including 5-9 from deep, in South Bay’s 118-114 road win. Overall for the week, South Bay outscored its opponents by an average of 21.0 points with Wear on the court.

The 2018 G League All-Star teams have been announced.

Eligibility for players to be selected for recognition is based on having played in 50 percent of their team’s games through January 21st and being on an Active Roster. Two-Way players and players on assignment from the NBA are eligible to both vote for and receive Midseason All-NBA G League recognition.
