McCamey Signs With Mersin In Turkey

Jul 16, 2011 3:26 PM

Demetri McCamey has signed a one-year deal with Mersin in Turkey, according to his agent Roger Montgomery.

McCamey went undrafted out of Illinois.

"We thought this was a good opportunity for the year," Montgomery told the website. "There's a lot of uncertainty with what's going on with the NBA season. We wanted to get his career started. There were a lot of teams that were interested in him. We had to sift through them and do our due diligence for what was the best fit for Demetri.

"We decided this situation from a financial standpoint, basketball standpoint and location standpoint was the best fit. Turkey is a really, really quality league. It's been in the news as of late. That's why we made the decision."

Gilbert Brown Signs With German Team

Jul 5, 2011 11:53 AM

Gilbert Brown has signed with German squad S. Oliver Wurzburg, according to his agent.

Brown, a shooting guard out of Pittsburgh, went undrafted in last month's draft.

"If the lockout ends early, I probably won't even go," said Brown. "It's basically an insurance policy so I'm not waiting around for the lockout to end."

Brown, who said a clause in his contract allows him to leave Germany after the lockout ends without penalty, worked out with the Boston Celtics last week.
