Head coach Scott Drew made the announcement Thursday, a day before Baylor begins practice.
LaceDarius Dunn was suspended indefinitely from the team after being arrested in Waco, Texas.
CBSSports.com's Gary Parrish reports that Waco police said Dunn has been charged with aggravated assault after an incident with his girlfriend. The crime is considered a felony.
Jeff Goodman of FoxSports.com talked with Edwards' father, who said the whole incident was just an accident.
Enes Kanter practiced with his Kentucky teammates on Thursday and the school is hoping he will be allowed to practice next week.
To do that, Kanter will need to get another waiver from the NCAA while his amateur status is being investigated, Kentucky spokesperson DeWayne Peevy told ESPN.com Friday.
Calipari said he fully believes Kanter is an amateur.
The NCAA is reviewing the 6-foot-11 center's eligibility based on whether he received expenses beyond what is considered necessary while playing for a club team in Turkey in 2008-09 prior to his year in an American high school.
Kentucky has contended that Kanter chose not to play for the Turkish national team and turn down a separate professional contract.
