The New York Post's Marc Berman confesses his love for Latrell Sprewell.  But as Don Chaney finishes off his ugly first week afer replacing Jeff Van Gundy, Berman goes off on Spree.

He calls Sprewell's second-guessing of Chaney "unnecessary, ill-timed and potentially lethal."

Sprewell has questioned numerous decisions made by Chaney in his short stint, and Berman notes that if the team's leader blames the coach when he (Sprewell) couldn't put the ball in the Potomac River, other players will follow his lead.
