Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni confirmed that Chauncey Billups will not play in Game 2 of New York’s first-round series against the Celtics in Boston. Toney Douglas will start in his place.

“He’s day-to-day, but we’ll figure it out,” D’Antoni said. “I’ve got total confidence in Toney. We won’t change a whole lot.”

D’Antoni was then asked how Douglas might run plays differently than Billups.

“Toney is a little bit of a jitterbug out there.”

He left late in Game 1 on Sunday night when his knee buckled in the fourth quarter.

Game 3 will be Friday night at Madison Square Garden.
