The Brooklyn Nets will defer the acquisition of a first round pick from the Philadelphia 76ers from 2022 to 2023.

The Nets could have received the No. 23 pick in the draft.

The Nets traded James Harden and Paul Millsap to the Sixers for Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond and the unprotected 2022 first-round pick and top-8-protected 2027 first-round pick at the February trade deadline.

The Sixers can begin to use the No. 23 pick in trades beginning on draft night, but cannot trade another pick for seven years.

Brooklyn owes its own 2022 first round pick to the Houston Rockets as part of their own trade for Harden.
