Al Horford admits he was on edge throughout the offseason, but he ultimately understood the plan of the Atlanta Hawks' front office.

"I’m not going to lie to you," Horford said. "I questioned certain things, like ‘What is going on here?’ I was like ‘We need to get Kyle back. We need to get Jeff back. What’s going on?’ I was definitely on edge about all the things. Once I realized how everything was going, I was like ‘They have a vision. They know that they are doing. I have to trust them.’ I have to make sure that I get better and just get ready."

The Hawks re-signed Jeff Teague and Kyle Korver in the offseason while bringing Paul Millsap Elton Brand and Gustavo Ayon, among others.

"More than anything, I have to trust in (General manager) Danny (Ferry) and his vision and where he is going," Horford said.

James Johnson has signed with the Atlanta Hawks.

Johnson spent last season with the Sacramento Kings.

Philadelphia 76ers free agent Damien Wilkins has reached agreement on a straight training camp deal to return to the Atlanta Hawks, a league source told RealGM.

Wilkins had been working out in Atlanta for the Hawks, a team that has been in search for players to complete its wing depth.

Out of the University of Georgia, Wilkins, 33, has averaged 6.3 points and 2.4 rebounds in nine seasons in the NBA. At 6-foot-6, Wilkins always has exhibited flashes of athleticism and scoring.

Wilkins spent the 2010-11 season with the Hawks and is the nephew of Dominique Wilkins.

Royal Ivey will be in the Atlanta Hawks' training camp.

Ivey reportedly worked out for the Hawks recently.

Ivey has spent nine seasons in the NBA, including his first three with the Hawks.

Ivey, 31, has averaged 3.3 points and 1.1 assists in his career.

Free agent Damien Wilkins has been working out for his former team – the Hawks – in Atlanta and worked out for the San Antonio Spurs last week, sources told RealGM.

Wilkins has exhibited impressive moments in the workouts, and the Hawks have shown interest in free agents who can complete their depth at the wing. No deal is imminent for Wilkins, a source said.

Wilkins had a resurgent season with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2012-13, averaging his most points per game (6.4) since 2007-08 and receiving a reserve role under Doug Collins. He also shot 45.9 percent from the field.

Wilkins, 33, has averages of 6.3 points and 2.4 rebounds over nine seasons with Seattle, Oklahoma City, Minnesota and Detroit. Wilkins played 52 games for Atlanta two years ago.

D-League guard Chris Allen is working out for the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday, a source told RealGM.

Allen was claimed by the Iowa Energy in April.

Allen played three years at Michigan State before transferring to Iowa State.

Allen went undrafted in 2012 and played briefly last season in Israel.
