Sklava Kravtsov Still Waiting For First Minutes With Pistons

Nov 30, 2012 6:04 PM

Sklava Kravtsov is the only player on the Detroit Pistons who has yet to have played in a game this season.

"It was not what I expected at all," Kravtsov said on Friday.  "But this is life.  You can not stop because of that.  You should prove yourself at the practices and keep working to find yourself, and sometimes a chance comes to you.  You just have to be ready for it."

Lawrence Frank has said that he would begin to play Kravtsov when he's ready.

"I think I'm ready," he said.  "I've worked hard this month.  I rested a lot on my body.  I worked on my skills with Roy (Rogers, Pistons assistant coach).  I think I get much better.  And I think I can show something right now.  I think I could help a lot.  I just need to show it."

Maggette Interested In NBA Front Office Position

Nov 29, 2012 10:18 AM

Corey Maggette is in his 14th NBA season and was non-committal on Wednesday when asked if he might play a 15th under a new contract.

"Who knows what will happen?  Who knows?  I might be a guy that might be in a front-office position," Maggette said.  "I'm already preparing myself for that as I finish this career.

"The biggest thing is to worry about what's going on now and let the future take care of itself.  We don't even know if we're going to wake up tomorrow."

Maggette played one season at Duke before entering the NBA, but expects to graduate from Arizona State next year with a degree in business administration and technology.

Maggette has spoken regularly with Pistons president of basketball operations Joe Dumars and assistant general manager George David about their front-office journeys.

"These are guys I kind of look up to, and the steps they've taken to get to a position are always good to learn," Maggette said.

Stuckey Offers To Come Off Bench; Singler To Start For Pistons

Nov 16, 2012 7:05 PM

Rodney Stuckey will come off the bench against the Orlando Magic on Friday, with rookie Kyle Singler replacing him in the Pistons starting lineup.

Stuckey offered to come off the bench after watching Singler score 16 points and grab four rebounds in a 94-76 victory over the 76ers on Wednesday night.

"It's not because Kyle played better, it's because Rodney said, 'Hey, they had a great rhythm and flow," Pistons coach Lawrence Frank said. "Rodney can be the dynamic  guy off the bench. I'm not going to take a guy out the lineup because he had the flu and missed one game. That's a knee jerk reaction."

Stuckey envisions a role for himself such as that played by James Harden before the reigning Sixth Man of the Year was traded to the Houston Rockets.

"Anything to help the team win, I'll sacrifice. Just switching some stuff up and being with the second unit," Stuckey said. "I just want to come in and impact the game. Being able to run more and get out in transition, it'll help us a lot. I have no ego.”

Monroe Records Pistons' First Triple Double Since 2004

Nov 8, 2012 10:31 AM

Greg Monroe had 21 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists, recording the first triple double for the Detroit Pistons since Chauncey Billups did it in February of 2004.

But the Pistons lost the game, dropping a 105-103 decision to the Kings.

"I just took what the team gave me," Monroe said.  "We had good sets.  I was able to get my teammates easy shots out of sets.  That was it.  I made the reads, they finished and made some shots."

The Pistons are now 0-5 on the season.
