DeMar DeRozan Wants To Be Known As Greatest Raptor In Franchise History

Nov 23, 2016 1:13 PM

DeMar DeRozan re-signed with the Toronto Raptors on a five-year, $145 million deal and is now setting his sights on becoming the best player in franchise history.

"Without a doubt. No question," said DeRozan when posed with the question. "How many people get to say they hold one record for an organization, or were on the winningest team in Raptors history, or did this with one organization? All of those things last longer than your playing career. It took time for me to get out of the second round [of the playoffs] in Raptors history. And we did that [this year], and that’s something that is going to be there.

"If we don’t do it and someone else wins a championship, they are still going to revert back to the 2015-16 team as the best team until then. Ten, 15, 20 years from now, whatever it might be, those things last longer. It’s something you put your all into."

DeRozan chose to re-sign with the Raptors despite expected offers from the Lakers, Clippers and Heat.

Raptors Interested In Nerlens Noel

Nov 4, 2016 3:54 PM

The Toronto Raptors have expressed interest in Nerlens Noel.

Noel will be a restricted free agent in the 2017 offseason and is part of the Philadelphia 76ers' logjam at center.

Jared Sullinger is out indefinitely for the Raptors due to a foot injury and they're currently starting Pascal Siakam at power forward. Toronto lost Bismack Biyombo in free agency and Noel could offer the Raptors some of the same elements.

Noel underwent what was described by the 76ers as an elective surgery on his left knee. Noel's return date has not yet been determined.

Nov 4, 2016 11:56 AM

DeMar DeRozan leads the NBA in scoring at 36.3 points per game through four games.

DeRozan was asked if he gets tired after taking more than 20 shots per game.

"No, not at all," said DeRozan.

Last week, DeRozan referenced "running out of gas" and "looking for the gas station" after the Toronto Raptors opening night win.

DeRozan was asked about that gas station reference as he continues his scoring surge.

"No, I'm like a Tesla," said DeRozan.
